Job summary

The Category Manager at CIPS is responsible for delivering commercial value through strategic sourcing, supplier management and spend analysis across Network Plus operations. You will work with stakeholders to identify cost reduction opportunities and ensure suppliers deliver value, quality and service aligned to business objectives.

Key activities include leading tendering and contract renewals, developing sourcing strategies, monitoring supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in category management and procurement practices.
• Knowledge of supplier evaluation and risk management.
• Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems.
• Proven track record delivering cost savings.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies across spend categories.
• Lead tendering, supplier negotiations and contract renewals.
• Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance and value improvements.
• Analyse spend data to identify opportunities.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier trends.
• Support strategy development and continuous improvement.
• Build collaborative supplier relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs.
• Support supplier onboarding and due diligence.
• Produce spend analytics and procurement MI.
