Job summary

Birmingham City Council is recruiting three Category Analysts to join our newly established Strategic Category Management team. You will use data, market insight and stakeholder engagement to develop category strategies that maximise value for money and improve outcomes for Birmingham's residents.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting category management, procurement or commercial activities in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, tendering and contract management.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data for decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience using procurement systems and technology.
• Understanding procurement governance and ethical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the development and delivery of category management strategies.
• Support procurement and tendering activity with governance compliance.
• Analyse supplier, market and spend data for planning and risk.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and provide guidance.
• Develop guidance, toolkits and briefing materials for standard practices.
• Support procurement systems and technology to improve efficiency.
