Job summary

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-precision instrumentation and sensors, is seeking a Buyer based in Lymington to join on a permanent basis. This office-based role supports the Purchasing Department, ensuring timely flow of materials to meet production requirements and assisting with new product enquiries.

Key responsibilities include raising purchase orders in SYSPRO, ensuring on-time delivery, maintaining procurement data, building supplier relationships and negotiating favorable

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' procurement/purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to meet operational and commercial targets.
• Highly organised and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Raise purchase orders using the company's ERP system, SYSPRO.
• Ensure order acknowledgements meet delivery requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement and inventory data.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, savings and favourable commercial terms.
• Manage supplier performance, risk and timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Production, Planning and Engineering teams.
• Support KPI, supplier performance and continuous improvement activities.
