Job summary

SRS Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Strategic Buyer - Direct Materials for the East Midlands. The role focuses on developing supplier relationships, managing LTAs, and driving cost reductions while ensuring continuity of supply across production and operations.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in procurement, MCIPS, and strong ERP/MRP knowledge, with advanced MS Office skills. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree educated with MCIPS preferred.
• 5+ years in supply chain, procurement or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of Sourcing, Materials Management, and Logistics.
• ERP/MRP knowledge and purchasing tools/techniques.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; JDE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop commodity strategy and drive cost-down targets.
• Negotiate and manage LTAs with key suppliers to reduce TCO.
• Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives and process improvements.
• Collaborate with production, quality, design and supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.
• Monitor market trends and set supplier performance expectations.
• Coach team members and develop category expertise.
