Overview

The role

The role of Strategic Broker Distribution Manager is to be responsible for the implementation of the strategic direction and business development activities for IQUW's key broker accounts. Providing IQUW with a holistic view of each account, they will manage key relationships, gather insights, develop positioning, value propositions and messaging to ensure that the right message is delivered to the right audience at the right time.

The Strategic Broker Distribution Manager will ensure broker contract strategies are executed throughout the business, overseeing C-suite and Head of Department engagement, providing the data insights, meeting packs and meeting structure required to deliver an exceptional IQUW experience for brokers.

By building mutually beneficial relationships with our trading partners, fostering collaboration across all functional areas within IQUW, the Strategic Broker Distribution Manager will materially contribute to the achievement of our strategic and financial objectives across both IQUW.

Key responsibilities

  • Implements and executes the broker distribution strategy, ensuring alignment with syndicate objectives.
  • Collates and categorises broker-related business feedback for the Broker Distribution Group (BDG), prioritising based on strategic impact.
  • Oversees the delivery and execution of Broker Service Agreements (BSAs), ensuring service levels and commitments are met.
  • Monitors and analyses broker performance, ensuring structured engagement plans are followed and optimised.
  • Synthesises and shares market insights, trends, and competitive intelligence with the underwriting community.
  • Attends broker meetings, ensuring actions are documented, tracked, and progressed efficiently.
  • Produces executive-level reporting packs for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), external broker meetings, and internal governance forums (e.g., BDG, UWC), providing a comprehensive overview of trading, market conditions, and tailored observations, and respond to any queries.
  • Facilitates structured broker communications, ensuring key messages are relayed across underwriting and wider teams.
  • Work with Insurer partner markets to formulate and manage a bespoke strategic business plan aligned with market ambitions to deliver value.
  • Seek out and deliver new revenue streams for the business.
  • Participate and lead, where applicable, on key strategic projects within the team.
  • Supports commercial objectives by reinforcing our value proposition during broker interactions.
  • Identifies and escalates broker-related risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders for decision-making.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

  • Ability to manage strategic meetings with senior stakeholders to deliver against IQUW objectives
  • Excellent experience and knowledge in developing and executing business development strategies and campaigns.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the P&C and Specialty broker market
  • Demonstrable experience in using portfolio level data to drive improved performance across broker relationships
  • Experience in building, delivering and measuring contact strategies
  • Knowledge of IQUW's product and those of our major competitors - good understanding of the coverage provisions, exclusions and conditions of IQUWs product
  • Strategic thinker, who is able to contribute to the commercial and strategic management of a complex business
  • Extremely strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proven experience in use of data to drive decision making process
  • A team player with demonstrable experience of collaborating in being part of a highly successful team
  • Very strong presentation skills
