Job summary

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) invites applications for the role of Assistant Director (Operational Area Commander). This full-time, permanent position is based at HWFRS HQ in Worcester, with a 42-hour working week, pension and benefits including a provided car for official use.

The salary is aligned to the Area Commander pay scales under the NJC Grey Book, plus 20% flexi duty allowance and a 9.6% supplement for the local rota pattern.

Qualifications

• Must be a competent UK Local Authority Group Commander or role above.
• Evidence of Levels 1, 2 & 3 command.
• Pass Level 3 Command Assessment; Level 4 Command Assessment if not held.
• Eligible to live and work in the UK without restrictions.
• Clear appraisal within last 12 months where applicable.
• No live formal disciplinary sanctions or recent misconduct.
• Not dismissed for misconduct or capability by another Fire Service.
• Must pass vetting processes and be medically fit.
