The role

We seek an ambitious, results-driven Strategic Account Manager with a growth mindset and proven ability to generate long-term value from relationships. You will create a market-leading broker proposition and use market insights to anticipate and respond to distribution shifts.

This role involves managing some of Hiscox’s largest and fastest-growing relationships, focusing on delivering long-term value and excellent service. It offers a prominent voice within Hiscox, engaging with senior management and major UK Brokers. Strong relationship-building and influencing skills are essential.

Our Strategic Account Managers operate nationwide, ensuring top-tier relationship management and service delivery. You will be part of a driven, ambitious team working closely with the Broker Development Director and Chief Distribution Officer, supporting initiatives to enhance our Strategic Account Management capabilities across the broker landscape.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop long-term strategic plans with key broker partners to meet financial targets and milestones
  • Lead and coordinate relationship management strategies, including tender responses and bids
  • Proactively manage prospecting and pipeline development
  • Implement and grow the Hiscox Sector strategy with designated brokers
  • Use market insights to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Build strong relationships with key broker contacts
  • Monitor and review account performance
  • Collaborate with regional teams, underwriting, claims, finance, legal, data, and management to execute plans and pursue larger deals
  • Contribute ideas to sales strategy and pipeline processes
  • Negotiate remuneration and contracts for assigned accounts

Our must-haves:

  • Deep knowledge of the UK Insurance market and macroeconomic environment
  • Proven broker and client relationship management experience
  • Significant large account management experience within UK broker channels
  • Ability to contribute to overall UK strategy and add value beyond own specialization
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with strong commercial acumen
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to establish credibility and build long-lasting broker and underwriter relationships
  • High broker satisfaction ratings and achievement of KPIs
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Organized, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Willingness to travel within the UK
