Overview

Fastmarkets is an independent commodity pricing and information organisation with over 600 staff. We focus on transparent price data, forecasts, and market analyses to support customers across metals, mining, agriculture, forest products, and energy transition markets. Role

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for the organic growth of existing accounts with an average order value between £10,000 and £100,000 and a total book of business consisting of 60–70 accounts. The role does not involve new business activity but aims to grow the existing book through data licensing, cross-selling and up-selling, while balancing increasing spend with reducing churn. The role sits within the EMEA Metals and Agriculture Strategic Accounts team and involves high-level client conversations, insight-led engagement, and a customer-centric approach.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Employ consultative sales techniques to manage renewals, generate opportunities, and drive growth, aligning to the MEDDIC qualification methodology.
  • Manage the book of business to deliver sustainable long-term growth.
  • Create and execute account plans to grow high-potential customers within the book.
  • Fully utilise Salesforce for pipeline management, forecasting, activity logging, and performance metric tracking.
  • Own personal development to continually learn and contribute to the wider team's development.
  • Maintain knowledge of Fastmarkets products and client markets.
  • Collaborate across functions internally to provide maximum value to the customer, particularly with Customer Success, Editorial, Price Development, Product & Marketing teams.
