Job summary

Ark is seeking Relief Support Practitioners for Stornoway. This flexible role offers shifts without guaranteed hours to cover sickness, study leave, and staffing needs. You will work with a team to support vulnerable individuals, provide individual care, and encourage participation in activities.

Training is provided; PVG and SSSC registration may be funded. If you are new to social care or an experienced practitioner, Ark invites you to apply and join a values-driven team delivering

Relief Support Practitioner - Stornoway

Relief Support Practitioners - Stornoway

£13.45 per hour

The Stornoway service provides support to individuals within the town which enables them to live full lives and be involved in the local community. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and promote independence and life skills to our supported people. We are actively involved in activities and groups in Stornoway and support a wide range of people with their day to day living. Join our team and help us continue to deliver a high standard of care which allows people to live their lives to the fullest potential.

Your main duties will include but not be limited to:

• Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
• Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
• Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.

What is Relief?

As a Relief Support Practitioner, you do not have contracted hours. This provides flexibility, allowing you to pick up shifts that suit your availability.

Please note: Relief work is offered on an as and when basis to cover sickness absence, study leave, and other staffing needs. We cannot guarantee regular or ongoing work, as the demand for relief staffing may vary over time.
