Job summary

Ark in Stornoway is recruiting a Support Worker to help adults live independent lives within the local community. The role is full-time and offers pro rata pay up to £24,307.67 per year.

Training is provided, with pathways to SVQ2 in Health & Social Care and progression opportunities within Scotland. As part of a supportive team, you will assist with daily activities, monitor wellbeing, and use tablets to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; full training provided.
• SVQ2 in Health & Social Care funded while you work.
• Full-time, part-time and relief roles available across Scotland.

The Stornoway service provides support to individuals within the town which enables them to live full lives and be involved in the local community. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team and promote independence and life skills to our supported people. We are actively involved in activities and groups in Stornoway and support a wide range of people with their day to day living. Join our team and help us continue to deliver a high standard of care which allows people to live their lives to the fullest potential.

There are good opportunities to develop you skill in care due to the diverse variety of support needs in the service.

Your main duties will include but not be limited to:

• Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
• Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
• Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
• Updating and maintaining accurate records using a tablet on Arks Information Management system.
