Storesperson

Location: Leicestershire

Salary: GBP 14-15 p/h

Job Type: Permanent

We are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in the East Midlands. The company designs and manufactures heavy equipment used across various industries including construction, infrastructure, and materials processing.

About the role:

As a Storesperson, you will be responsible for organizing and storing raw materials delivered to the site. This includes operating a diesel FLT counterbalance forklift to move materials around the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ongoing redevelopment of the site by organizing and managing incoming materials.
  • Receive, identify, and store raw materials such as sheet metal, screws, bearings, bolts, etc.
  • Operate a diesel Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) safely around the site.
  • Maintain an organized storage system for quick and accurate retrieval of parts and components.
  • Assist in the movement and distribution of materials to relevant teams (e.g., bolts to assembly/fitting team).
  • Use basic engineering knowledge to identify and understand different components (e.g., bearings, fasteners).
  • Communicate effectively with team members to meet operational and production requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a stores or goods-inward role.

  • A basic understanding of engineering and mechanical components.
