Stores Operative Role at BAE Systems

We are seeking a dedicated Stores Operative to join our Glascoed Stores Team. This permanent position involves a wide range of duties, with flexibility and decision-making being key to meeting production demands and ensuring timely loading of customer goods.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work on a 3-shift pattern.
  2. Oversee conduct and behaviour of store operatives.
  3. Ensure magazines operate within licensing and compatibility limits.
  4. Maintain accurate stock records using SAP.
  5. Report and address defective or deficient stocks; identify slow-moving stock.
  6. Arrange and maintain a stock review system and manage shelf-life materials.
  7. Service and maintain store handling equipment, vehicles, and buildings, including security.
  8. Carry out weekly cyclical stock takes.
  9. Regularly check vehicle logbooks, building logbooks, and temperature & humidity sheets.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing stores or warehouse role is essential.
  • Forklift truck license is required.
  • Willingness to drive site heavy goods vehicles; HGV license is desirable (training provided).
  • Ability to use and understand SAP software (training provided).
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working in hazardous areas and understanding licensing limits is advantageous.
