Job description

General Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Stores team at Wisbech. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both the Stores and Purchasing teams across all Wisbech sites, with a particular focus on accurate stock control, timely material handling, and supporting production needs.

This role combines general stores responsibilities with forklift driving duties and will require working across multiple storage and production locations in Wisbech.

Duties and Main Responsibilities

  • Operating forklifts to load, unload, move and stack materials safely and efficiently
  • Accepting and unloading deliveries - signing paperwork and inspecting goods
  • Booking in deliveries onto the stock control system, matching items to delivery notes
  • Reporting discrepancies, damages, or missing items to suppliers and the purchasing team
  • Accurately putting away stock and maintaining stock location records
  • Picking kits of parts and issuing to the shop floor as per requirements
  • Stock taking and assisting in inventory control activities
  • Maintaining a tidy and organised stock area, ensuring stock is correctly labelled and stored
  • Packing and despatching items to customers or other sites
  • Supporting production with timely delivery of materials using forklift or other handling equipment
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed during handling and storage of goods

Essential

  • Experience within a similar store or warehouse environment
  • Valid forklift truck licence (Counterbalance or Reach)
  • Confident and safe operation of forklifts and other manual handling equipment
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Good computer skills; experience with stock control systems
  • Hardworking and motivated, with a passion for organisation and stock accuracy

Preferred

  • Experience in the Commercial Vehicle market
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Use of MRP systems and computer literate
