Precision People in Cheddar is seeking an Experienced Stores Operator to join our engineering/manufacturing team. The role covers stores, admin duties, and light logistics support, with a focus on accurate goods handling, stock control, and supplier liaison.

The position offers day shifts, £13.00–£15.00 per hour, private medical insurance, additional leave, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension and health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Stores/warehouse or admin experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Goods in/out experience including receiving, checking and dispatching.
• Stock control including ordering and replenishment.
• Basic computer skills and data entry.
• Strong communication with suppliers, customers, drivers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Record jobs arriving in the works and book onto EMIR with photos.
• Order spares from the supply chain and chase PO's.
• Conduct quality checks, review test sheets and paperwork.
• Support logistics and transport, including driving when required.
• Plan routes for deliveries and collections; local knowledge helpful.
• Pack and receive goods; manage stock replenishment.
• Maintain stores documentation and housekeeping.
• Assist Branch Manager and handle general admin tasks.
• Answer calls to assist the Branch Sales Office and improve service.
• Meet with suppliers as needed.

Are you an Experienced Stores Operator within the engineering, manufacturing, or industrial industry? If yes, read on….

My client is a leading electromechanical services provider within their industry who specialise in repairing and sourcing multiple aspects of electromechanical equipment. They are currently looking for an experienced stores operative professional to join their team and support the business needs.

The Role - Stores / Administrator:

• Recording jobs arriving in the works and booking jobs onto EMIR, including photos
• Ordering spares and parts from the supply chain (chasing purchase orders)
• Quality control checks on completed jobs. Checking test sheets and signatures on paperwork.
• Supporting schedule and overseas aspects of logistics and transport (including driving if required).
• Route planning for deliveries and collections (local geographic knowledge desirable).
• Packing goods for dispatch as well as goods receiving.
• Stock ordering and replenishment.
• Stores documentation and general housekeeping of stores.
• Aid the Company or Branch Manager by carrying out requests.
• Assisting with general admin tasks such as filing, job pack creation, note-taking, and other administration tasks.
• Answer incoming telephone calls to assist the Branch Sales Office and increase customer service levels.
• Meeting with suppliers as the needs arise.

Minimum Skills / Experience Required - Stores / Administrator:

• Stores/warehouse or general administration experience - ideally within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Goods in/ goods-out experience - receiving, checking and dispatching goods
• Stock control - ordering, replenishment and maintaining stock records.
• Computer skills - comfortable using basic computer systems and entering job/stock information
• Strong communication skills - confident dealing with suppliers, customers, drivers and internal teams.

The Package - Stores / Administrator:

• Starting rate of up to £15.00 per hour
