Job summary

HRGO is recruiting an Engineering Stores Assistant to support a busy stores function in a manufacturing environment. You will ensure parts and materials are received, stored, and issued accurately to support production.

The role requires storing and handling stock, ensuring accurate records, and potential forklift operation. A forklift licence is advantageous, but training can be arranged. Own transport is essential due to the rural location.

• Maintain general stores/warehouse housekeeping and safe manual handling.
• Operate forklift where trained/licenced.

Job description

Engineering Stores Assistant

£32,448 per year (equivalent to £16.00 per hour)
Overtime paid at time-and-a-half: £24.00 per hour
Permanent Position, located in the Cambourne area
39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
07:30 start with an early finish every Friday (12:00 midday)
Rural / out-of-town location - own transport required
Engineering stores / manufacturing environment - forklift licence advantageous

The Role

We're recruiting an Engineering Stores Assistant to support a busy engineering stores function within a manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring parts and materials are received, stored, controlled and issued accurately to support production.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving goods, checking paperwork, booking items in and putting stock away
• Picking and issuing parts/materials to production and engineering teams
• Stock control: location management, stock checks and cycle counts
• Maintaining accurate records using stock systems/paperwork
• General stores/warehouse housekeeping and safe manual handling
• Forklift operation (where trained/licenced)

What We're Looking For

• Proven stores and material handling experience
• Background in a manufacturing / engineering stores / warehouse environment
• Forklift certificate/licence is an advantage, but training can be arranged
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and basic IT skills
• Own transport essential due to rural location

Working Hours (39 hours/week)

• Monday: 07:30 - 16:00
• Tuesday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Wednesday: 07:30 - 17:00
• Thursday: 07:30 - 17:00
• Friday: 07:30 - 12:00
