Job description

Stores Operative

Site Location: Newton Abbot

Contract: Temporary ongoing

Rotational Shift: 12hr, 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm

Basic Day Pay Rate: £12.21/hr

Due to continual business growth, gap personnel are seeking candidates to join the diverse, friendly, and passionate team at Yeo Valley. Based at their stunning site in Newton Abbot, we have an office position available with an immediate start.

As a Stores Operative, you will be an important part of a team supporting the production and supply chain teams. Your responsibilities will include supporting the delivery of daily KPIs and targets, ensuring high levels of efficiency and food safety standards, while working as part of the site’s operations team.

Your role will include:

  • Working within a team, providing administrative support in the raw materials office.
  • Stock taking
  • Ordering stock
  • Engaging with daily challenges and opportunities, working effectively with others to overcome them.
  • Collaborating with site teams to ensure effective use of raw materials and resources, participating in improvement projects, activities, and events aligned with team and site objectives.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to H&S by working safely, role modeling safety behaviors, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions, and escalating issues when support is needed.

What are we looking for in you?

Passion, proactivity, ability to work well within a team, manual task capability, pace work, effective communication, adherence to H&S, understanding of basic food hygiene, and experience within a food production environment (desirable).
