We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a versatile and enthusiastic Stores Operative to join our Logistics team. The candidate should be self-motivated, able to use their initiative, responsive to company and customer needs, proactive, and adaptable to changing business requirements.
Activities include managing accounting and daily issues related to field equipment, conducting inspections, and performing maintenance or repairs as needed. These activities will be carried out using MOD IT applications and in accordance with Defence policy, ensuring precise and timely service delivery.
The successful candidate should be well-organized, confident, with strong communication skills, and willing to contribute at all levels. They must be versatile, intuitive, professional, and demonstrate good judgment and integrity. Proactivity, responsiveness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. Reliability, good presentation, and a positive reflection of MITIE values are also required.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a store environment, though training will be provided. They should demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality customer service and build strong relationships. Knowledge of Health and Safety, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and IT literacy (especially Microsoft Excel) are essential. Forklift experience is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
This role involves working within a Defence stores environment, maintaining stock accountability according to Defence policies, analyzing stock levels, and managing demand requests. Knowledge of reverse supply chain processes is beneficial. Additional duties include handling customer inquiries, managing inbound and outbound shipments, liaising with contractors, maintaining registers, overseeing laundry services, and promoting safety standards. The candidate should be prepared to undertake additional tasks and support change initiatives as directed by the Line Manager.
