Job summary

London Borough of Richmond upon Thames seeks a Stores Assistant at Frogmore Depot, Wandsworth. The role ensures materials, plant and equipment are available, issued correctly, and recorded, supporting operations across Richmond and Wandsworth.

The post holder will assist with deliveries, stock control, system updates, and purchasing support, while maintaining clean, secure and well-organised stores and depot areas. A practical, flexible approach and safety commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Training for counterbalance forklift truck and JCB/loading shovel licence.
• Experience in stores/warehouse/depot/logistics environments.
• Basic literacy and numeracy to record stock and use stores systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage daily workload.
• Experience working safely around vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Experience dealing with suppliers, operatives or internal customers.
• Experience receiving, checking, issuing and recording stock.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient stores service for materials, plant and equipment.
• Receive deliveries and unload vehicles.
• Maintain stock levels and update stores systems.
