Job description

Lead the way in warehouse management! Our client is looking for a Stores Manager to drive efficiency, implement Lean Manufacturing processes, and manage a dynamic team in a fast-paced production environment. If you're ready to take charge and make an impact, apply today!

Benefits:

  • Salary up to £35,000 per annum DOE
  • Hours of Work - Monday to Thursday, 06:40 - 16:45
  • 4-Day working week!
  • Location: Birmingham
  • 28 Days Annual Leave (Including bank holidays)
  • Fully office-based role.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure goods received are accurately booked in and stored efficiently.
  • Develop and enhance kitting systems for lift components.
  • Create, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work with the Purchasing Manager to transition suppliers to a barcode system.
  • Identify and eliminate root cause issues using the Andon system.
  • Implement and improve the Kanban system for both production lines and suppliers.
  • Upgrade storage solutions across the warehouse.
  • Ensure the timely provision of materials to a fast-paced production line.
  • Manage your own team that will report directly to you.
  • Conduct staff assessments, including appraisals and disciplinary procedures.
  • Lead daily meetings and toolbox talks.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in warehouse or stores management.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in writing and implementing SOPs.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Sage accounting software, or something similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
  • (Essential) Forklift truck licence
