Job description

A prestigious tooling company is looking for a Stores Manager to join their team in Northampton. The successful candidate will be organized, possess foresight, and have strong communication skills to coordinate with external and internal colleagues. Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Issuing parts from Maintenance Stores.
  2. Conducting daily stock taking (system generated).
  3. Running daily usage and reorder reports from the Stores system.
  4. Creating orders to replenish stocks.
  5. Attending engineering meetings at customers' request (daily/weekly/monthly).
  6. Understanding and achieving KPIs agreed with the customer.
  7. Building long-lasting relationships beneficial for business development and growth.
  8. Potentially restocking factory just-in-time storage in the future.
Technical Background:
  1. Ability to manage time effectively to meet KPIs.
  2. Experience in engineering services is ideal, but a proven track record in a stores-based environment is essential.
  3. Experience in a food production environment would also be advantageous.
Candidate Profile:
  1. Driving license is essential.
  2. Comfortable working independently, as this is a small store with approximately product lines, especially in the early stages.
  3. Adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
Salary & Package:
  1. Competitive salary between £24,000 and £32,000 plus bonus scheme.
  2. Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  3. Company car or van provided.
  4. 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  5. 3 or 4 days off between Christmas and New Year, depending on the calendar.
