Job description

Lead the way in warehouse management! Our client is looking for a Stores Manager to drive efficiency, implement Lean Manufacturing processes, and manage a dynamic team in a fast-paced production environment. If you're ready to take charge and make an impact, apply today!

  1. Salary up to £35,000 per annum DOE
  2. Hours of Work - Monday to Thursday, 06:40 - 16:45
  3. 4-Day working week!
  4. Location: Birmingham
  5. 28 Days Annual Leave (Including bank holidays)
  6. Fully office-based role.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure goods received are accurately booked in and stored efficiently.
  2. Develop and enhance kitting systems for lift components.
  3. Create, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  4. Work with the Purchasing Manager to transition suppliers to a barcode system.
  5. Identify and eliminate root cause issues using the Andon system.
  6. Implement and improve the Kanban system for both production lines and suppliers.
  7. Upgrade storage solutions across the warehouse.
  8. Ensure the timely provision of materials to a fast-paced production line.
  9. Manage your own team that will report directly to you.
  10. Conduct staff assessments, including appraisals and disciplinary procedures.
  11. Lead daily meetings and toolbox talks.

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Proven experience in warehouse or stores management.
  2. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  3. Experience in writing and implementing SOPs.
  4. Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  5. Familiarity with Sage accounting software, or something similar.
  6. Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
  7. (Essential) Forklift truck licence
