Job description

What to Expect

As our Materials & Logistics Lead, you’ll take ownership of material flow across the entire business - from supplier deliveries and internal logistics through to outbound shipments. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time, supporting both production and engineering demands. This is a hands-on leadership role in a dynamic manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on accuracy, traceability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end materials planning aligned with production schedules and engineering requirements

  • Own and maintain ERP/MRP data related to material control, including lead times, safety stock, and order quantities

  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess and work with procurement to secure timely supplier deliveries

  • Oversee all stores operations including goods-in, storage, issuing, kitting, and dispatch

  • Ensure compliance with material storage standards, including ESD protection, shelf life tracking, and bonded stock requirements

  • Manage internal logistics and linefeed, return-to-stock processes, and accurate material flow to point-of-use

  • Coordinate outbound shipments, including documentation and export compliance

  • Lead a small team across stores, logistics, and materials planning, implementing clear processes and visual controls

  • Drive continuous improvement in layout, stock accuracy, availability, and logistics performance

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a similar role within aerospace, automotive, or low-volume manufacturing

  • Strong expertise in ERP/MRP systems and inventory control

  • Ability to manage both the physical and data-driven aspects of material operations

  • Solid organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience leading small teams and driving improvement projects

  • Understanding of material traceability, quality control, and regulatory compliance

  • Experience in prototype or early-stage production environments

  • Forklift licence or material handling certification

  • Knowledge of export and customs documentation
