Job summary

Firmin Recruit are recruiting an experienced Stores Person to join our established UK manufacturing client in Sidcup. You will lead goods-in, stores and despatch, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

The role includes stock control, despatch to customers, keeping records up to date, and supporting audits. A forklift license and strong communication are essential, with a can-do attitude and team spirit.

Qualifications

• Previous stores experience preferable within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong communication skills including both written & verbal.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and MRP stock management systems, the current system being used is Omnis
• Electric Forklift truck experience with current forklift license
• Suitable candidates must live within a commutable distance of the Sidcup area and full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
• Our client is looking for someone with a can-do attitude who can work well as part of a team and on their own.

Responsibilities

• To assist with a variety of day-to-day activities relating to goods receiving, dispatch of spares and finished goods.
• Prioritise department tasks and activities
• Receive and check deliveries, ensuring correct quantities and paperwork
• Prepare and despatch parts and finished goods to customers and service teams
• Manage stock levels and maintain accurate records, including regular stock checks
• Pick parts and materials according to Bills of Materials for production
• Support Quality Manager and senior management during ISO audits
• Work with the Production Manager to prioritise daily tasks and manage shortages
• Communicate with Service and Sales teams to organise despatch of goods
• Handle returns or rejected parts and liaise with the Quality Manager
• Keep all records and systems up to date, including stock logs and registers
• Ensure the stores area is clean, tidy, and organised
• Use of forklift when necessary
