Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for a Stores Coordinator to manage the stores function at a rapidly expanding firm in Sherburn-in-Elmet. Responsibilities include negotiating supplier tenders, maintaining inventory, and facilitating bulk orders. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and strong communication skills. This is a full-time permanent role with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

Job Description:

This permanent Stores Controller role is an urgent requirement for this rapidly expanding firm. Based in Sherburn-in-Elmet you will be responsible for running the stores function across the business. Full time hours.

Job Profile:

Overall responsibility for the smooth, efficient and cost-effective running of the stores function.

Responsibilities:

  • To negotiate and ensure the most economically advantageous tender across all suppliers and be able to demonstrate cost savings.
  • Rationalise the supplier database(s) and maximise the group purchasing power.
  • Identify areas improvement/savings and share best practice.
  • Facilitate bulk orders and distribution within the business.
  • Set up and maintain parts inventory and preferred suppliers on the system
  • Raise purchase orders and place and track with suppliers.
  • Handle any queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies.
  • Check in all deliveries and ensure they are booked on to the system
  • Ensure optimal stock levels are achieved and maintained.
  • Book out and issue spares to the relevant department, checking in the process if they are rechargeable.
  • Carry out regular stock takes.
  • Oversee the warranty claim process.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be a team player. with a professional, and positive. approach and have integrity, initiative and focus.
  • FLT licence is desirable

Hours: 8am to 5pm 1 hour lunch

Location: Sherburn-in-Elmet
