Job description

Next Generation is currently recruiting for a Stores Controller to work with a well-established, family-run business that has successfully supplied the Aerospace industry for over 75 years. As the Material Stores Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Material Stores.

What’s on offer for the Stores Controller?
  • £15 - £17 per hour, depending on experience

Working hours:

Monday - Thursday: 8.00am - 5.00pm
Friday: 8.00am - 1.00pm

Mail Duties of the Stores Controller:
  • Unloading and correctly identifying materials for inspection
  • Identifying and storing materials following inspection
  • Operating Guillotine machinery to cut sheet metals to required sizes
  • Reading and interpreting in-house specifications, technical drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements
  • Allocating materials to specific Job Cards using the in-house computer system
  • Maintaining material inventory using the in-house computer system
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition
  • Using handheld measuring equipment
  • Collaborating with team members to improve workflow and efficiency within the Material Stores environment
Candidate Requirements:
  • Ability to use handheld measuring equipment (essential)
  • Computer literate (training on the system will be provided)
  • Driving a forklift (desirable)
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working within an Aerospace environment, with attention to detail being key
