Job summary

Gooch & Housego in Torquay is seeking a Stores Person to join our goods warehouse team. You will contribute to a supportive environment, working efficiently, accurately, and safely while handling orders and stock control.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability and a willingness to learn, with duties spanning order preparation, stock reception and inventory management in a high-precision manufacturing setting.

ROLE

We are looking for a Stores Person to join our goods warehouse team in Torquay. In this role, you’ll contribute to a supportive team environment were working efficiently, accurately, and safely is important. We value attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn and take an organised approach to working.

Mandatory Responsibilities

• Adherence to all Company policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality
• Working positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity

Responsibilities

• Preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
• Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
• Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
• Complete diary logs into inventory
• Report any discrepancies
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
• Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
