Job description

Stores Assistant needed in Kimberley, Nottingham, £13.51ph PAYE – Reference: OR9731

The hours of work will be: Monday to Thursday 7.30 to 3.30, Friday 7.30 to 3.00. Lunch is 12.00 – 12.30.

  1. Assist with the procurement, purchase, and issuance of stock items (including fuel) using IT systems and the Purchase Card facility.
  2. Control waste acceptance in accordance with the Waste Licence and Environment Agency regulations, including administrative duties related to Duty of Care records.
  3. Conduct continuous stocktaking using IT systems following financial regulations and standing orders.
  4. Monitor the quantity and quality of materials and goods delivered.
  5. Issue store items (including fuel), ensuring documentation accuracy and proper processing.
  6. Manage and control horticultural chemical stores, issuing and recording chemicals for the Grounds Maintenance Department.
  7. Assist the Chief Storekeeper in maintaining compliance and legislative requirements, ensuring proper documentation for waste movement.
  8. Maintain stock levels (including fuel), reordering as needed and notifying the Transport and Stores Manager of obsolete stock.
  9. Assist with issuing and recording powered plant items required by service departments as needed.
  10. Lock and unlock the Stores building and assist with access control via the automated entrance barrier.
  11. Assist with fire and security alarm testing.
  12. Perform other duties within the scope and grading of the post as requested by the line manager or Assistant Director of Environmental Services.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
