JBT currently offers an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Assistant to join the Proseal team near Manchester.

Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry, with manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Established over 20 years ago, Proseal is the UK's leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling and has a growing international presence with offices and manufacturing in several countries.

Shift Pattern/Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks, totaling 40 hours per week.

The Opportunity ...

Main Purpose of Job:

This role suits a driven and self-motivated individual who will be the first step in our end-to-end delivery of food packaging machinery. As part of a small team, you will prepare and deliver components to the shop floor in both kit and assembly form, dispatch components for aftermarket care, and manage deliveries and receipts using ERP systems like Sage and a bespoke platform. You will be involved in problem-solving, discrepancy reporting, and stocktaking to ensure accuracy of kits and storage locations, supporting multiple production teams and liaising with logistics to facilitate component movement. Adherence to safe working practices, manual handling regulations, and maintaining high health and safety standards are essential.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

• Adhere to high standards of health and safety and housekeeping
• Participate in continuous improvement and health & safety reporting
• Manual handling of stock/products following best practices
• Operate pallet trucks and other safe lifting equipment
• Conduct cycle counting and stocktaking
• Assemble parts into kits for production and aftermarket
• Book in/out components on ERP systems
• Fulfill and locate BOMs digitally
• Pack components and products efficiently and accurately for shipping
• Arrange domestic and international parcel pickups with couriers
• Complete warehouse administrative tasks accurately and promptly
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, delivery issues, and order concerns
• Report damages and quality issues
• Communicate effectively with other departments

Aptitudes Required

• Strong commitment to health and safety regulations
• Full UK Driving License is essential
• Proficient in IT and MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Proactive, can-do attitude and flexibility
• Ability to build excellent working relationships

Experience

• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience in warehousing or stores roles preferred
• Health and Safety knowledge advantageous
• FLT license beneficial; training can be provided for suitable candidates
