Job Title: Stores Assistant

Currently, JBT offers a great opportunity for a Supply Chain Assistant to join the Proseal team near Manchester.

Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry, with manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Established over 20 years ago, demand for Proseal products is growing. We develop many plastic-based alternatives for food preservation and safety. Founded in 1998, Proseal is the UK's leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling and is recognized internationally with facilities and offices across the UK, North America, Australia, Ireland, Holland, Spain, Canada, and Dubai.

Shift Pattern/Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily and two paid 15-minute breaks. Total of 40 hours per week.


The Opportunity ...

Main Purpose of Job:

This role suits a driven, self-motivated individual who will be the first step in our end-to-end food packaging machinery delivery process. You will prepare and deliver components to the shop floor, assemble kits, dispatch products for aftermarket care, and manage deliveries using ERP systems like Sage and a bespoke system. You will also handle stocktaking, discrepancy reporting, and support multiple production teams to meet deadlines, liaising with logistics teams to move components across the site. Adherence to safety, manual handling regulations, and maintaining high health and safety standards are essential.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping
  • Participate in continuous improvement and H&S reporting
  • Manual handling of stock/products following best practices
  • Operate pallet trucks and lifting equipment safely
  • Conduct cycle counting and stocktaking
  • Assemble parts into kits for production and aftermarket
  • Book components in/out on ERP systems
  • Fulfill and locate BOMs digitally
  • Pack components/products for shipping to high standards
  • Arrange domestic and international courier pickups
  • Complete warehouse administrative tasks accurately and timely
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, delivery issues, and order concerns
  • Report damage and quality issues
  • Communicate effectively with other departments

Aptitudes Required:

  • Strong commitment to health and safety regulations
  • Full UK Driving License
  • IT and MS Office proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good organization and attention to detail
  • Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

Experience:

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
  • Warehousing/stores experience advantageous
  • Health and Safety knowledge preferred
  • FLT experience is highly beneficial but training can be provided
