Stores Assistant – Greatmoor EfW

Salary: £24,370 - £33,509 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Greatmoor, HP18 0AF

As a Stores Assistant at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the stores function at the Greatmoor Energy from Waste (EfW) facility. Working closely with our Operations and Maintenance teams, you will help ensure stock is managed effectively to maximise plant performance, availability, and efficiency. This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and organising inventory
  • Using the site’s Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ensuring the stores area is tidy, secure, and well-organised
  • Managing deliveries, returns, and transportation of goods
  • Supporting outage periods and emergency response with additional hours when needed
  • Carrying out regular stock checks and preparing reports
  • Assisting with procurement and liaising with suppliers
  • Operating site equipment (e.g., forklift trucks, hoists)
  • Training colleagues on stores operations as needed
What are we looking for?
  • Previous experience in purchasing or stock control in an industrial environment
  • Computer literate, especially with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • A basic understanding of engineering parts and health & safety regulations
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
  • A team player with good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Willingness to work flexibly and take accountability for your area
