Responsibilities

  • Custom manufacture of products

  • Advising sales staff on manufacturing issues
  • Reading engineering drawings and assisting other staff
  • Conducting warranty investigations
  • Repairing Customer Returns
  • Picking and packing customer orders
  • Stock entry into ERP system
  • Manual loading and unloading of delivery vehicles

GPW Recruitment are working with an established, specialist manufacturer in Haydock, we're looking to recruit a Stores and Workshop Technician, on a permanent basis paying up to £30,000 pa + bonus.

Responsibilities
  • The custom manufacture of products.
  • Operating guillotine and press (after training).
  • Operating a lathe and drill employing metal and wood work techniques.
  • Advising sales staff on manufacturing issues and delays.
  • Reading engineering drawings and assisting other staff.
  • Conduct warranty investigations and write reports.
  • Repair Customer Returns.
  • Conversion of standard units.
  • Continuous improvement in finding cost reductions, improved health & safety & environmental protection.
  • The setting of gas springs to a required force.
  • The picking of customer orders as required.
  • The packing of customer orders as required.
  • The dispatching of customer orders as required.
  • Signing for supplier deliveries and booking them in when required.
  • Stock entry into ERP system.
  • Re-stocking products on receipt of supplier deliveries when required.
  • Manual loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Loading and unloading operating fork lift truck (after training).
  • Liaising with the sales team.
  • Ordering of consumable packaging materials.
  • Transport of goods and equipment using company vehicles.
Qualifications
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Practical knowledge of machining.
  • Certified and trained First aid in the Workplace (after training).
  • NVQ level 2 computer software.
  • FLT Licence.
Rewards
  • Salary to £30,000 pa plus annual bonus.
  • 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm).
