Purpose of the Role/Role Overview:
- To ensure stock materials, specialist parts, equipment and general consumables are available as required to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Raising requisitions and electronic orders to ensure all items are readily available.
- Receive incoming stock and engineer returns and distributing it as required.
- Process material and other requests through the most appropriate and cost-effective supplier.
- Liaising with engineers on any stock related matter to ensure they are adequately supported to complete first-time visit repairs.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
- Raise orders as required to ensure continuity of stock on engineers’ vans and for scheduled jobs.
- Produce order requests and documentation accurately for issue to suppliers and use by other key contacts.
- Pick stock in stores for operatives as per materials request forms.
- Manage the receipt of goods and services, ensuring items are available when needed.
- Reviewing and resolving invoice/PO matching queries.
- Handling incoming mail, e-mail and calls, assisting with replies and resolutions of all queries.
- Maintain stock management and control systems by recording items received and issued.
- Assist in maintaining the tidiness and safety of stores and external areas.
- Oversee waste and recycling removal, maintaining records for ISO compliance.
- Compliance with Heath & Safety, Equal Opportunities and other Company Policies, raising concerns whenever necessary.
- Any other duties reasonably requested including working outside of core hours as and when required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- First rate communication skills, able to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and suppliers
- Computer literate with good MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.) skills
- Flexible and adaptable, with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritise workload
- Ability to work to deadlines whilst paying attention to the detail
- Must be a team player
Experience:
- Previous stores experience desirable, but not essential
- Understanding of health and safety in a stores environment
- Understanding of stock control
- Knowledge of MS Dynamics Navision or Business Central desirable but not essential.
Working Environment:
This is an office position that involves collaborating closely with the stores and other office teams, whilst also engaging with our field engineers. Expect a dynamic and fast paced work setting that combines office-based coordination with on-going communication with field operatives. The role necessitates proactive interaction and liaison with colleagues/suppliers to ensure effective communication and alignment of objectives.
