Job summary

Reliable Contractors Limited is seeking an experienced Storeman for the Devonport project in Plymouth on a full-time PAYE basis. The role offers long-term ongoing work with secure income, plus benefits and site safety requirements.

Key duties include receiving deliveries, storing materials, issuing items to site operatives, and maintaining stock records with strict attention to detail and health and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CSCS Labourer Card.
• Experience in stores/warehouse, preferably construction.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check deliveries against orders and notes.
• Store materials, tools and equipment safely in correct locations.
• Issue materials to site operatives as required.
• Maintain accurate stock records and report shortages/damages.
• Keep stores area organised, clean and secure.
• Monitor stock levels and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Follow site procedures and health and safety requirements.

STOREMAN - DEVONPORT - FULLTIME

A chance to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. Reliable Contractors are recruiting for an experienced Storeman to join the Devonport project. Long-term work is available for the right candidate with the correct cards, tickets and experience, offering stable employment and regular income for the foreseeable future.

Assignment Details

• Employment Type: Full-time
• Payment Basis: PAYE
• Paid Holidays: 31 days per year (including bank holidays)
• Start Date: As soon as possible following successful vetting checks, medical and on-site induction
• Assignment Duration: Ongoing / until further notice
• Location: Plymouth

Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

Must Have

• Valid Green CSCS Labourer Card.
• Previous experience working in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably within construction.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to receive, check and organise deliveries.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of materials and stock.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable and proactive attitude towards work.
• Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

• Issue materials and equipment to site operatives as required.
• Maintain accurate stock records and report shortages or damaged items.
• Keep the stores area organised, clean and secure.
• Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing.

Shifts

Working days: Monday to Friday.

Start time: 7:00am-7:30am.

Finish time: 5:00pm-5:30pm.

Overtime

• Monday to Friday: Time and a third after 10 hours.
• Nights: Time and a third.
• Saturdays and Sundays: Time and a half.
• All night hours: Time and a half.

The successful candidate will be expected to promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring site rules, procedures and relevant health and safety requirements are followed.

Key risks associated with the role include:

• Manual handling: Use safe lifting techniques and suitable handling equipment.
• Moving plant and vehicles: Follow site traffic management procedures and maintain safe segregation.
• Storage of materials: Stack and secure materials safely to prevent falling objects.
• Slips, trips and falls: Keep stores areas and access routes tidy and unobstructed.
• Deliveries and loading: Follow site procedures and maintain safe working distances from vehicles and equipment.

All site-specific risks and control measures must be confirmed through the project RAMS, risk assessments and site induction.
