Hourly Rate:

Basic: £16.00

Overtime 1 (OT1): £20.00

Overtime 2 (OT2): £28.00

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional individual to join our team as a Storeman. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining inventory of consumables and paint products in a warehouse environment. This includes the accurate issuing of stock, regular stock checking, updating inventory records, and maintaining a safe and organised workspace.

This role plays a key part in supporting operational efficiency by ensuring materials are available as required and that stock levels are kept accurate and up to date at all times.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Stock Management
Issue consumables and paint products as required by operational staff and contractors.

Ensure accurate tracking of issued stock for each job.

Monitor stock levels and notify the Warehouse Manager of low stock or discrepancies.

Assist with stock replenishment and reordering processes.

Inventory Control
Carry out routine and scheduled stock takes.

Accurately record stock movements using the inventory management system.

Support stock audits and physical inventory counts.

Investigate stock discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.

Customer Service & Professionalism
Deliver a high standard of internal customer service by responding promptly to requests.

Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, contractors, and management.

Ensure timely preparation of materials for jobs and scheduled tasks.

Health & Safety Compliance
Follow all site-specific health and safety protocols and procedures.

Handle and store hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines.

Report any health and safety issues or incidents immediately to the Warehouse Manager.

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30 (OT1 applicable after 16:30)

Friday: 07:30 – 12:30 (OT1 applicable after 12:30)

Saturday: First 4 hours at OT1; hours thereafter at OT2

Sunday: All hours at OT2

Person Specification
Essential:

Previous experience in a similar warehouse or stock control role

Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills

Basic computer literacy for inventory updates

Understanding of health and safety procedures in a warehouse setting

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

Experience working with hazardous or paint-related materials

Forklift licence (if applicable)
