Job summary

B&Q Dartford is hiring a part-time Store to Home Picker for 20 hours per week on a permanent contract. Shifts cover Monday to Sunday, 7.00am–10.00pm. The role combines face-to-face customer service with support for click-and-collect orders at the Dartford store.

You will be a confident communicator, able to handle multiple tasks from the shop floor to phone support, while prioritising safety and efficiency. A competitive hourly rate applies, including a location allowance.

Qualifications

• Confident and friendly communicator with customers face to face and over the phone.
• Organised and analytical thinker who can prioritise tasks and keep things simple.
• Willing to work on a rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
• Happy to learn new technology and adapt to new ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers on the shop floor and via phone, sharing product knowledge.
• Support customer ideas and guide them through the one hour click and collect service.
• Assist with courier, click and collect and home delivery operations.

What's the job?

You’re a confident and friendly communicator, comfortable building relationships and sharing product knowledge with customers face to face and over the phone. Efficiency and safety will be vital of course but your real focus will be the customer, either supporting their ideas on the shop floor or working to a one hour click and collect service.

What we need:

You’re an organised and analytical thinker, and you know how to prioritise your time and keep things simple. We provide courier, click and collect and home delivery services and products can range from tins of paint to bags of compost or hot tubs, so you’ll be comfortable with some heavy lifting. Being agile and flexible is important to the success of this role.You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. And you’re flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
