Job summary

B&Q Glasshoughton is hiring a Store to Home Picker on a 3 month fixed term contract. The role is part time (20 or 15 hours per week) with shifts across Monday to Sunday, 6am to 8pm. You’ll help customers with product knowledge on the floor and support the one-hour click and collect service.

You’ll need to be organised, adaptable and comfortable with lifting heavy items. The role may involve weekends, evenings and bank holidays, and offers a competitive hourly rate of £13.10.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers on the shop floor and by phone, sharing product knowledge.
• Support customers ideas and guide them through click and collect services.
• Assist with loading and unloading items, and maintain safety and efficiency.
• Work as part of a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

What's the job?

You’re a confident and friendly communicator, comfortable building relationships and sharing product knowledge with customers face to face and over the phone. Efficiency and safety will be vital of course but your real focus will be the customer, either supporting their ideas on the shop floor or working to a one hour click and collect service.

What we need:

You’re an organised and analytical thinker, and you know how to prioritise your time and keep things simple. We provide courier, click and collect and home delivery services and products can range from tins of paint to bags of compost or hot tubs, so you’ll be comfortable with some heavy lifting. Being agile and flexible is important to the success of this role.You’ll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. And you’re flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
