Job summary

B&Q Keighley is hiring a Customer Advisor on a 3‑month fixed‑term contract. This part‑time role offers either 12 hours a week or 18.5 hours, with shifts Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 9pm.

You’ll focus on great customer service, stock handling, and creating attractive displays, with training in paint-mixing and timber cutting. Join a friendly team at B&Q and benefit from a competitive notional rate of £13.10 per hour, plus pension, discounts and other colleagues’ benefits.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing, eager to help and learn.
• Able to work in a team and adapt to rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
• Willing to be trained in paint-mixing and timber cutting.

Responsibilities

• Sales will be important and you will help customers with their home improvement projects.
• Manage stock and set up displays to keep the store looking welcoming.
• Provide great customer service and assist with other store tasks as needed.

What's the job?

Join our team, and you'll become an expert advisor. An inspiration as well as a guide. The person who gets to know every customer and their home improvement projects. Sales will be important, of course, as will things like managing stock, setting up displays, and making sure your store looks great. You'll have the opportunity to be trained in paint-mixing and cutting timber, but truly great customer service will be your main aim.

What we need:

Happy to help, eager to learn and just a little bit obsessed with home improvement, you'll be right at home with us. You're friendly and outgoing, and you get a buzz from helping others. You'll be happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working. You're great at working in a team too, and flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
