Job summary

TJ Morris Limited, trading as Home Bargains, is seeking Store Team Members to help maintain cleanliness and high store standards at The Peel Centre, Gloucester. The role focuses on cleaning duties, with additional Store Team Member tasks as required to support daily store operations.

Shifts include early starts from 5am and can require mornings from 5am to 9am. Part-time, permanent positions with pay up to £13.00 per hour (18-20) or £13.00 (21+). Training provided and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Be aged 18 or over, in line with health and safety requirements for cleaning duties and operation of machinery including the Hako floor scrubbing machine.
• Be reliable, punctual and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Be willing and able to undertake cleaning duties, including operating cleaning machinery following training.
• Be flexible and willing to support with other Store Team Member duties as required.
• Be available to work the shift patterns required by the store, which may include early starts from 5am or late finishes up to 10pm.
• Have a positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team.
• Be polite, professional and committed to providing excellent customer service.
• Previous cleaning experience or experience in a fast-paced retail environment would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment, including the Hako floor scrubbing machine, following the appropriate training and health and safety procedures.
• Clean and sanitise staff areas, toilets, bathrooms and communal spaces, maintaining high standards of hygiene.
• Sweep, mop, dust and clean shop floors, shelving, displays and other areas as required.
• Identify and respond promptly to spills, hazards and cleanliness concerns to maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely.
• Complete additional cleaning duties as required to maintain excellent store standards.
• Welcome customers and assist with queries, providing friendly and helpful customer service.
• Support with replenishing stock, working deliveries and maintaining product displays.
• Assist with till operations and other shop floor activities when required.
• Work alongside colleagues to ensure the store runs smoothly, particularly during busy periods.
• Undertake the full range of Store Team Member duties as reasonably required to support the operational needs of the store.

as a Store Team Member - Cleaner, your main responsibilities will involve keeping our shop floor, staff facilities and other areas clean, safe and welcoming for customers and colleagues.

Although this position is primarily focused on cleaning, you will be employed as a Store Team Member. This means you will also be expected to carry out other Store Team Member duties as and when required to support the needs of the business. These may include serving customers, operating tills, replenishing stock, working deliveries and helping maintain store standards.
