Job summary

East of England Co-op is seeking a Team Manager to lead, coach and support colleagues, delivering a great customer experience. You’ll work with the Branch Manager to set high standards, cover store leadership as needed, and create a positive, safe environment across the store in Bishop’s Stortford.

You don’t need prior food retail, but you’ll bring leadership, calm decision-making and the ability to motivate a team through busy trading periods.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or people-management experience.
• The ability to coach, support and motivate others.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support your team, helping colleagues to realise their full potential.
• Work alongside the Branch Manager to deliver high standards, great availability and excellent customer service.
• Deputise for the Branch Manager, including taking responsibility for the store when required.
• Create a positive environment where colleagues feel supported, valued and motivated to do their best.
• Make sure the store operates safely, legally and in line with our standards.
• Respond confidently to changing priorities and make quick, sensible decisions.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, other stores and our local community.
• Promote membership and help customers get even more from being part of our Co-op.
