Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a Store Operative to join our busy Leeds depot. You will maintain material stocks and equipment for field and network engineering, manage the inventory lifecycle, and ensure stock levels are accurate for scheduled works.

The role covers stock auditing, real-time stock transactions, and ensuring efficient loading/unloading, security, and safe working practices across the yard and depot operations.

Qualifications

• Methodical and thorough approach with ability to multi-task while maintaining high compliance.
• Full Clean Driving License.
• Telehandler Licence (Essential for site operations).
• Computer literate, proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to listen effectively.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a full monthly stock audit and maintain stock accuracy.
• Ensure all stock movements are transacted electronically in real time.
• Control the audit of all incoming material from suppliers.
• Prepare material for point of use per written instructions.
• Manage and report on material shortages.
• Enforce Comex2000 procedures for stock and asset control.
• Assist loading and unloading civils and cable gang vehicles.
• Maintain yard management and organisation with good housekeeping.
• Ensure site security is maintained to preserve stock integrity.
• Organise and control the issue of plant line equipment.
• Observe and maintain safe working systems and report health and safety issues.
• Prepare shipments for dispatch and organise relevant paperwork.
• Liaise with couriers and third parties.
• Follow the delivery schedule to meet right first time and in full.
• Liaise with Planning and Purchasing to resolve plan-related issues.
• Communicate with the Operations Manager regarding staff behaviour in the yard or warehouse.

Join our dynamic team as a Store Operative at our busy Depot in Leeds. This role is crucial to supporting our fieldengineering teams who are carrying out the installation of vital ducting andcabling for telecommunications across the East Midlands.

You will be the backbone of our operations,primarily responsible for maintaining material stocks and equipment forall field and network engineering activities. You will manage the entirelifecycle of our inventory, from drawing down materials and placing call-offorders to ensuring stock levels are always available and accurate for scheduledworks.

KeyResponsibilities and Duties

Stock &Inventory Management

• Conduct a full monthly stock audit and ensure stock accuracyis maintained at all times.

• Enforce good housekeeping disciplines to maintain excellentyard management and organisation.
  
• Ensure site security is maintained throughout the day to ensurestock integrity.
  
• Organise and control the issue of plant line equipment.
  
• Observe and maintain safe working systems within the workcells, reporting any Health and Safety issues.
  

Logistics& Administration

• Prepare shipments for dispatch and organise all relevant paperwork.
  
• Liaise effectively with couriers and third parties.
  
• Follow the delivery schedule to ensure all customer deliveries aremet right first time and in full.
  
• Liaise with Planning and Purchasing to resolve any plan-relatedissues.
  
• Communicate with the Operations Manager regarding any staffbehaviour issues in the yard or warehouse.
  

Requirements

EssentialSkills & Qualifications
