Role overview

As a Store Manager Designate at Vision Express, you’ll join us on a 6-month training and development programme, aimed to prepare you for the role of a Store Manager. The programme is designed to help participants understand our brand and equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge required to excel in the role of a Store Manager. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, including managing colleagues, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and meeting sales targets. Administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and financial reporting will also be part of your responsibilities.

You’ll manage the recruitment process with support from your peers, including your Regional Manager and Store Support Centre colleagues. You’re responsible for creating a positive and productive work environment, ensuring all employees are trained and supported, aligning with our mission of helping customers ‘See More and Be More’ by providing tailored eyecare and eyewear solutions to enhance their lifestyle.

  • Monitor and analyze sales data to identify improvement areas and encourage team efforts to meet or exceed targets
  • Support colleagues with strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport and explain professional terminology clearly
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate customer records and prescriptions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the store team, including Eye Care Professionals and Optical Assistants
  • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Show confidence, passion, drive, and enthusiasm
  • Assist with in-store recruitment processes
  • Conduct training and coaching to ensure team members perform at their best
