Job summary

Kauai, operating within Virgin Active facilities, is seeking a motivated store leader to drive exceptional customer service and store performance. You will lead a team, uphold food safety, and manage budgets, stock and labour to deliver profitable results.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving and the ability to balance speed with quality in a busy retail environment. You will collaborate across site teams to ensure a seamless member experience.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a food service, hospitality or retail operation.
• Proven track record of leading, developing and motivating high performing teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour, stock control, waste and profitability.
• Food Safety Level 3 and Food Allergy & Intolerance Training.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day to day operation of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to KAUAI brand standards.
• Take ownership of the store's commercial performance, managing sales, labour, stock, waste and controllable costs to deliver profitable results.
• Recruit, coach and develop a high performing team, creating a positive, inclusive culture that encourages accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage rotas, payroll, recruitment and workforce planning to ensure the store is resourced effectively while controlling labour costs.
• Champion the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen compliance, ensuring all procedures are followed.
• Oversee stock ordering, inventory management, supplier relationships and waste controls to maximise efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure the store is presented to the highest standards, creating a welcoming environment for customers and maintaining brand standards.
• Monitor store performance, customer feedback and operational metrics, identifying opportunities to improve service and commercial performance.
• Work collaboratively with Virgin Active management to deliver a seamless experience for members and customers across the shared site.
• Lead by example with a visible store presence and support for shifts when required.

Job description

In this role, you will play a part in being responsible for leading the overall performance of the store, ensuring operational excellence, commercial success and exceptional customer experiences. Working closely with the UK General Manager and Virgin Active club teams, you will lead, develop and inspire your team while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, compliance and brand delivery.,

• Lead by example, maintaining a visible presence in store and supporting operational shifts whenever required. Previous experience managing a food service, hospitality or retail operation.
• Proven experience leading, developing and motivating high performing teams.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour, stock control, waste and profitability.
• Food Safety Level 3 and Food Allergy & Intolerance Training.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen compliance.
• Strong organisational, planning and problem solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Confident using operational systems and performance data to drive decision making and continuous improvement.
