Job Description

As Store Manager (known internally as General Store Manager) of Scope's Andover store, you will have the autonomy to run the store using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! Every day presents a different challenge that you will find extremely rewarding.

The role

Permanent - 35 hours per week

Location - Scope's Andover shop, SP10 1RL

As General Store Manager, you will:

  • Oversee all aspects of stock collection, preparation, and display, and explore ways to build stock donations.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, banking, and financial reporting.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop staff and volunteers within Scope’s HR and operational policies, fostering an inclusive team environment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and engage with the local community to strengthen ties.
  • Review and implement all relevant health and safety policies to ensure compliance.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have previous experience in fashion and homeware, and ideally managing a large store footprint.
  • Be personable with excellent customer service skills.
  • Be commercial with a can-do attitude.
  • Work well collaboratively.
  • Have excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Be numerate with the ability to handle cash, banking, and financial reporting accurately.

Our shops are the face of our retail brand, run by dedicated, creative, and passionate teams. Located across England and Wales, each shop has its own character. We focus on sustainable fashion and engaging with local communities. Our teams lead volunteers to deliver excellent customer and colleague experiences, raising funds for disabled people's futures.

Shop hours

Scope Charity Shops operate every day, requiring some weekend and Bank Holiday coverage. Full-time hours are 35 hours per week, working five days out of seven. Part-time hours are on a seven-day rota.
