Job summary

Retail Human Resources plc is working with a well-established outdoor and lifestyle retailer to appoint an experienced Store Manager in Exeter. You will take ownership of a busy store, lead a high-performing team and drive commercial success.

You will focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, managing day-to-day operations, visual merchandising, health and safety, and recruitment. You’ll use commercial insight to hit KPIs and develop your people in a supportive, lively environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail leader to take ownership of a busy store, develop a high-performing team and play a key role in driving commercial success.

As store manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running and overall performance of the store. You will lead, motivate and develop your team, creating an engaging environment where people are empowered to deliver their best. You will drive sales and performance against targets and KPIs, maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation, and ensure all operational, health and safety and company procedures are consistently followed. You will also play an active role in recruitment and talent development, loss prevention, customer service and local community engagement, while using commercial insight to make informed decisions and maximise store performance.

We are looking for a confident and experienced retail manager who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and getting the best from their team. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to manage a range of personalities, build strong relationships and provide clear, constructive feedback. A results-driven and solutions-focused approach is essential, alongside strong commercial awareness, energy, resilience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. Most importantly, you'll be approachable, supportive and motivated by creating a successful store and a high-performing team.
