Store Manager Job Description

As a Store Manager, you’ll be someone who shares our love of delighting others. You’ll take full ownership of your business and lead your team to achieve sales targets while delivering outstanding customer service. You should be an experienced and commercially focused retail manager.

Role Purpose:

Accountable for the business performance of your store and the management and development of the store team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Drive the sales and profitability of the store to achieve outstanding results.
  2. Set an example by delivering exceptional customer service.
  3. Promote high visual merchandising standards and maintain store housekeeping standards.
  4. Plan and manage all aspects of Health & Safety according to law and company standards.
  5. Manage store stock control, stock count, payroll budgets, and targets.
  6. Motivate and drive the team to meet and exceed objectives.
  7. Work with the District Manager and HR to address people issues effectively and promptly.
  8. Recruit and develop a high-performing team.
  9. Manage cash handling, banking, and safe procedures following company standards.
  10. Oversee till management, including open tills, cash handling, and variances.
  11. Monitor competitor activity and take action to maximize footfall and profitability.
  12. Develop a quarterly strategic plan with the District Manager to meet business goals.
  13. Implement loss prevention measures to prevent theft and errors.
  14. Conduct regular 1-2-1s, reviews, and appraisals with team members.
  15. Respond to customer questions and complaints promptly.
  16. Live and promote Clinton’s values within the team.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Role Parameters:
  • Ability to travel to other stores if necessary.
  • Reports to Assistant Manager and Team Members.
Budget Management:
  • Responsible for store budget.
Working Arrangements:
  • Work 5 out of 7 days.
  • Availability for weekends, early mornings, and late nights.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours based on workload.
