Kingdom Group, a trusted partner of Tesco Stores, is seeking an experienced Store Detective (SIA Licensed) to cover Tesco stores in the South Yorkshire area. The role includes preventing theft, reducing losses, and protecting customers and staff across multiple sites.

Applicants should have a valid SIA Licence and prior store detective or loss prevention experience, with good observation, communication, and report-writing skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor store activity to identify and prevent theft, fraud, and other criminal activity.
• Conduct plain-clothes surveillance and investigations.
• Gather and preserve evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements.
• Recover unpaid goods and apprehend offenders following procedures and laws.
• Complete detailed incident and investigation reports.
• Share intelligence with store management and security teams.
• Liaise with police and external agencies when required.
• Provide crime prevention advice to store colleagues.
• Maintain a professional and visible presence where necessary.
• Handle challenging situations calmly, safely, and professionally.

Store Detective (SIA Licensed)

Location: Abbeydale / South Yorkshire Tesco Stores

Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7, varied start times, 8-hour shifts

Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour

Transport: Own vehicle required

About The Role

Kingdom Group, a trusted partner of Tesco Supermarkets, is looking for an experienced Store Detective to join our retail security team. This role involves working across Tesco stores in the South Yorkshire area, helping to prevent theft, reduce losses, and protect customers, colleagues, and company assets.

The successful candidate will have previous Store Detective or Loss Prevention experience and hold a valid SIA Licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor store activity to identify and prevent theft, fraud, and other criminal activity.
• Conduct plain-clothes surveillance and investigations.
• Gather and preserve evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements.

Requirements

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Proven experience as a Store Detective, Loss Prevention Officer, or similar role.
• Excellent observation, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Calm and confident approach to conflict management.
• Ability to provide a full five-year checkable employment history.
• Own transport is essential due to travel between stores.
