Job description

Storage Strategist

This is one of the world's top algorithmic trading firms, looking for an experienced Storage Strategist who likes to be challenged, thrives in a collaborative organisational structure, and enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on environment. A community of self-starters from multiple tech backgrounds - maths, computer science, statistics, physics, engineering - they have built one of the world's most sophisticated computing environments for research and development with data at its core.

This role offers the opportunity to drive the direction, planning, and execution of the firm's current and future storage needs. A critical position, given the ever-evolving storage needs (with a view to AI), you'll own the vision and develop a roadmap for future solutions, working across engineering teams to execute it.

You'll be expected to deliver performant, reliable, and future-proof storage solutions across the business, engaging with stakeholders - users within the firm plus external & internal tech providers - and understanding storage workloads to improve user experience.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of multi-PB storage deployments in HPC-like environments
  • Experience developing advanced storage software solutions and/or leading software development team(s)
  • Deep expertise in HPC and scale-out enterprise storage solutions
  • Knowledge of distributed file systems used for large-scale cluster computing (Lustre, GPFS, WEKA, S3, CEPH, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Track record of working successfully in a collaborative/cross-team environment
Benefits
  • Market-leading salary + bonuses + generous benefits package
  • Truly flat management structure, with no red tape
  • Friendly, informal yet highly rewarding work culture
  • Work with the latest technologies on complex problems with significant impact

Whilst we carefully review all applications, due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not possible to respond to those who have not been successful.
