This is one of the world’s top algorithmic trading firms, looking for an experienced Storage Strategist who likes to be challenged, thrives in a collaborative organisational structure and enjoys a fast-paced hands-on environment. A community of self-starters from multiple tech backgrounds – maths, computer science, statistics, physics, engineering – they have built one of the world’s most sophisticated computing environments for research and development with data at its core.

This role offers the opportunity to be a drive the direction, planning and execution of the firm’s current and future storage needs. A critical position, given the ever-evolving storage needs (with a view to AI), you’ll own the vision and develop a roadmap for future solutions, working across engineering teams to execute it.

You’ll be expected to deliver performant, reliable and future-proof storage solutions across the business, engaging with stakeholders – users within the firm plus external & internal tech providers – and understanding storage workloads to improve user experience.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of multi-PB storage deployments in HPC-like environments
  • Experience developing advanced storage software solutions and/or leading software development team(s)
  • Deep expertise in HPC and scale-out enterprise storage solutions
  • Knowledge of distributed file systems used for large-scale cluster computing (Lustre, GPFS, WEKA, S3, CEPH, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Track record of working successfully in a collaborative/cross-team environment
