We have an exciting role available at Yorkshire Smokefree Doncaster as a Stop Smoking Admin Officer to help achieve our commitment to reduce the prevalence of smoking and tackling health inequalities for the people of Doncaster.

We are offering working as part of a dynamic fast paced team who are passionate helping others. There is an opportunity to join the NHS pension scheme and holiday entitlement as well as working for a progressive and inclusive Trust.

Responsibilities

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the service manager and team to deliver the smokefree agenda within the service specification. This post is essential in supporting the administrative duties for YSFD and delivery model. The main roles and responsibilities of this post are to act as first point of contact for the entire service, action referrals, and offer treatment with the KPI, support queries into the service, support client access into service via drop in at Scot Lane and undertake additional office duties.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Be the principal point of contact for users of the service (internal and external).

Job description and responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Service user contact referred to in this Job description will only apply when working within a clinical area.

The post-holder will:

  • Under the supervision/direction of the Line Manager/Administrative Supervisor, provide a comprehensive, confidential, Secretarial/administrative service to clinical/support services, in an efficient and confidential manner.
  • Provide services within established policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, whilst acting within the required sphere of competences for the role at all times.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the service to enable the post holder to contribute and inform decision making within the service.
  • May work within clinical environments where conflict resolution may be required.
  • Act as principal point of contact for users of the service (internal and external).
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships, communicating effectively and empathetically.
  • Work with sensitivity and have a good understanding of service provision and issues experienced by its users.
  • Prioritise own tasks, exercise independence and judgement; refer and seek guidance on issues outside of competency to the Line Manager.
  • Work within departmental/Trust policies and service delivery plans.
  • Use effective verbal/written communication, adapts to users with different communication needs.
  • Ensure service experience is positive and confidentiality is maintained. Treat users and colleagues with respect and dignity in line with Trust values.
