Job summary

Bidfood UK is seeking a Stock Team Manager to lead a hands-on team responsible for stock accuracy, availability and compliance across the depot. You will work closely with warehouse, transport and operational teams to improve performance, reduce stock loss and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires experience in stock control, inventory management, warehousing or logistics, plus strong leadership and analytical skills to maintain high standards and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, warehousing or logistics.
• Experience leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team to deliver accurate stock operations.
• Manage stock accuracy through PI counts and investigations.
• Monitor stock loss and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure date-sensitive stock is maximised availability and minimal waste.
• Investigate credits and stock discrepancies to improve processes.
• Maintain compliance with standards (quality, health, safety, environment).
• Collaborate with warehouse, transport and operations to improve performance.
• Coach colleagues through appraisals and performance reviews.
• Govern stock-related systems, reporting and administration.
• Drive continuous improvement and teamwork.

As a Stock Team Manager, you'll lead a team responsible for stock accuracy, availability and compliance, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time for our customers.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll work closely with warehouse, transport and operational teams to improve performance, reduce stock loss and drive continuous improvement across the depot.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and developing a team to deliver safe, accurate and efficient stock operations.
• Managing stock accuracy through perpetual inventory (PI) counts and stock investigations.
• Monitoring stock loss, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensuring date‑sensitive stock is managed effectively to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Investigating credits, stock discrepancies and root causes to improve processes.
• Maintaining compliance with company, quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
• Working collaboratively with warehouse, transport and operational teams to improve performance.
• Managing stock‑related systems, reporting and administration to ensure accurate records.
• Coaching and developing colleagues through regular one‑to‑ones, objective setting and performance reviews.
• Driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and teamwork.

• Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, warehousing or logistics.
• Experience leading and motivating teams in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Confidence using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach with a focus on accuracy, service and continuous improvement.
• Experience investigating stock discrepancies and implementing solutions would be advantageous.
• The ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments.
